Our Day at Tram Sunday 2024

Below are pictured some of our active volunteers with no high vis and no oil smudges. Don't we scrub up well.

The day started early at 7.30am with the setting up of the stall by Bill and the team with gazebo, tables and display panels:

  • Donated books from our library, DVD's, etc were piled up for perusal.
  • Pictures of our efforts with the restoration of our carriages were put out on display proudly, in the hope of enrolling some new active recruits.
  • Details of the feasibility studies and where things are with the line re-instatement went on show.
  • Inscribed key rings, fridge magnets and pens were enticingly arranged for those who might be seeking reminders of the day and us.

We had a lot to show and tell, and people were very generous with their donations as encouragement.

We left for the day with fewer items than we came with, leaving behind some entertained and enthused people. We had one person so enthused by us that he joined us there and then. A warm welcome to him.

Success

Sue Cox has given us totals for the day, every shiny penny counted for us, thank you Sue.

  • Donations £203.40, sales £28.30 and one new Society member.

Thank you to all members who were there on the day, framed in the pictures of our activities, or who, behind the scenes provided us with other things to show and talk about.

Thank you to all our visitors who donated, bought, enquired, enthused and informed us, you all helped a long day pass quickly and with purpose.
